Park Assist in your P3 V70
Evening all.
I’m slowly fixing various issues with my V70, but have come across an odd one. My MY2008 57 Reg V70 has factory fitted park assist. I have the standard switch on the dash and have confirmed it’s factory fit front and rear. When I park and Park Assist kicks in my system starts to beep (now I’ve replaced the blown speakers!!) as I approach an obstruction. However there is NO indication on the stereo/IAM. It simply reads “Park Assist Active”. Every manual and illustration I read refers to an illustration on the screen of the car and obstacles. I do not get this, just the text. Has anyone any thoughts on this? I’ve tracked down another member that has the same, so I’m assuming if might be a software version thing?! Thanks all

My 07/57 S80 is the same, no graphics. The graphics on the screen was for later model years AFAIK, I'm not sure when it was introduced, maybe 2009 for MY10 as there were a lot of changes then?
Note that the beeping comes through the relevant speaker in relation to where the obstacle is, so if picking up an obstacle near your rear left corner, the rear left speaker emits the beeps. Last edited by ferg55; Feb 17th, 2020 at 21:20. |

Thanks Ferg, good to hear my system isn’t that unique!
I’ve found a few other 57 reg /08 that DO have the graphical representation, so I guess mine was built with older parts! I don’t think my speakers follow the obstacle, replaced the right (behind driver) speaker first and tested and got nothing out of it at all. Replaced left and it all sprung into life! Could just be my testing but I tried it for quite a while? I’ll do some more testing tomorrow! Thanks again
