Default 2007 XC90 D5 Oil Leak

Hi Colleagues,

I'm from Germany and new to this forum.
Last week I was st my workshop for yearly check of my XC90 D5 185HP.
Mechanic said car is in ok state with small oil leakage - no need to be repaired immediately. He also said that he coudnt find the source of oil leakage.. He did oil service and small inspection and said I can go my planned summer holiday trip via car (German-Italy and so on) no issue he said.

After a few days I got little worried about oil leakage in my garage. Small amount after each drive. Finally I looked on my own and made some pictures after removing bottom engine cover, cleaning everything and do 2 days of drive. Maybe you guys have some ideas where the oil leakage comes from?

Third picture is amount of oil loss after two days drive. Isnt this a lot? Do I need to get active repairing it immediately?

Best,
Ben

Hi there. Welcome to the forum.

It looks like the leak could be coming from the resonator pipe (the orange/red seal) - That pipe connects to the turbo. Then as you drive, the wind is blowing the oil all over the place. If I had a guess, I think that's where its coming from.

Yes, its something you want to get sorted as soon as possible.

Keep your eye on the engine oil level regularly until you get it fixed.
