Yes, thats what I meant by "not possible to use them directly". Lack of self levelling sensor, steer sensor (for active bending version) and completely different software to operate lights itself (DRL + PWM variations). Its much easier to modify halogen lights to use HID (with or without projector swap) than adapt halogen car to use OEM ABL lights.
Either return them to seller for full refund or resell them with profit. Then, if you want to upgrade your halogens - you can go with HID route and/or upgrade your projectors (take look at post from my sig, last post with updated pics).

BTW - Why did you need to buy new headlamps in the first place? Old ones are broken or worn out or what? as there are lots of options for refurb much cheaper and better than buying new set.

Sorry for not replying sooner, lots going on recently including MOT! Managed to get the correct set of lights for my car for £220 (Brand new both sides) and when I took it to the garage they tried to tell me that the headlight adjuster was worn due to the headlights being so old and would need replacing! (I Laughed hysterically down the phone for about 5 minutes straight) I turned up at the garage and informed me that if they'd broken my brand new headlights that I would be less than impressed!

Anyhow, I allowed someone to paint my previous headlight inners as they told me it was perfectly legal and easy to do. I noticed they had painted the headlight reflectors for whatever reason. (There were multiple issues with this alone) but when I tested the beam pattern of the headlights they were 'fudged'. beyond repair. The headlights were both constantly fogging up on the inside and I just wasn't happy with them at all any more.

So £220 later (entirely my fault!) I have standard working headlights and 12 months MOT.

Moral of the story is don't play with things you don't understand and don't trust other people with your car who are clueless with what they are doing.

Now I need to spend some time working on the next issue, the 'alarm triggered' error message when starting up the car and the car alarm constantly going off in the middle of the night! Found a nice write up on this forum on how to replace the alarm siren module (confirmed: checked the fault code) so hopefully won't need much help on this one.

Thanks for all the info from everyone on this post!
