Question Message "Alarm Service Required"

Hi. Can anyone help me to sort out this Message which appears on initial turn of the key.
I can't find an Alarm module on the Series 2 C70 , and my local garage after using their diagnostic machine thought it could be the main Control box located in the nearside front wing. Hoping the problem was being caused by a dirty contact this unit was removed and the contacts cleaned but sadly the problem persists although the Alarm works perfectly.
This problem arose after a Full Service, if that could be of any significance

You will be better off posting in the S40,V50,C30,C70 thread as this one only covers the classic Mk1 C70.

The alarm siren unit is located under the drivers front wheel arch liner...this unit is well known to cause problems when the internal batteries die and leak. Plenty of advice if you google it
