My AWD worked when there was no warning light or message.
I have never checked the AWD when the triangle was on or the Anti Skid message came up. I checked my sunroof and bulk head drains. They are all free. I checked the Volvo receipt. It said: code indicating intermittent faults with 1) DEM oil pressure faulty valve and 2) Communication fault between BCM - Brake Control Control Module. This lead Volvo to recommend to replace either the lead to the DEM or the DEM altogather if the lead did not sort the problem. So really guinea pig style repair where I am paying. |

Hi gshadow325,
That sounds just like Volvo seem to be approaching repair jobs. |

"Anti Skid Service Required Cause By Haldex Pressure Sensor?
Hello Folks,
I am from State, just have 05 xc90 V8 with "Anti skid service required" massage on and Boston Village Volvo told me it's caused by pressure sensor, could be the pump or DEM. It's bizarre,I thought it has something to do with angle steering sensor(SAS),Brake control module(BCM) ABS sensor or even CEM....etc. I have checked my YAW sensor under passenger seat and there is no water. Obviously, the first they will replace sensor, next will be the pump and so forth... It's going to cost me a fortune.(don't have extended warranty) |

The procedure is to clear the fault codes and see what comes back. I'd have said yaw sensor but I take it the codes are telling them something different.
The yaw sensor can be damaged by heavy impacts, although it will still look fine. Can be repaired by a specialist though.

Had my XC90 in to Volvo today for a free safety check. i always find that if you sneak out of the showroom and into the workshop the technicians are usually really helpful, today was no exception and i obtained a print out of the fault codes on my vehicle. (cleared them too). I think the BCM faults are permanent but there is also a DEM fault code.
BCM-0050 Control module Faulty signal - DTC is found active. BCM-0121 Yaw rate sensor Signal outside its permitted range - DTC is found active. BCM-0139 Pre-pressure valve power brake booster Signal outside its permitted range DTC is found active. DEM-OOOA Power supply voltage, DEM Faulty value - DTC is found not active I have been reading posts on the forum about repairs but am just wondering if anyone can tell me where to start/ which is the most likely fault. I had the anti skid service indicator come on once, but put it down to just having the discs and pads changed. Any help would be appreciated, only had the car for two weeks, turning out to be a nightmare. |

Thought i'd follow up on my last post, after having the codes reset last week i took the car back to volvo, after having the anti-skid service required appear again once. Only the yaw sensor code (BCM-0121 Yaw rate sensor Signal outside its permitted range - DTC is found active was present). I had the 4 wheels aligned and the brakes control module calibrated on VIDA. This removed the remaining brake code, however, i suspect that only time will tell if the problem comes back. When i saw the original codes I was convinced that i needed a new brake control module, but now, after only minimal work, i suspect that it is actually alright. Sometimes simple fixes work, although i will probably eat my words knowing my luck! |

DEM part number
Hi Forum,
I too have a faulty DEM and would like to pursue the BBA company to either repair or provide a re-conditioned DEM part. Can anyone advise me of the DEM Part number? cheers Ian |
