Default Condesation

Morning All

Got in Car today (2023 XC40 Recharge plus) to find condesation inside the tailgate. Initially thought it was outside but rear wiper didnt do the Job. When i open the tailgate there was heavy condesation which needed wiping off.
Just wondering if anyone has had similar experience please
Thank you

I’d check the floor in your boot - likely full of water. That condensation had to come from somewhere..

If you just got it, and particularly if from a dealer, the car may have been wet vacuumed/cleaned prior to sale. Take it for a drive with the aircon/heating up to maximum temperature, not on the recirculation setting, to get it good and warm and dry it out inside. It might need a few repeated trips.

Alternatively, as suggested, you may have "inherited" a leaky car.

I you look down the list of XC40 threads to one headed "XC40 2023 recharge pure boot leak", you will find you may not be alone.
