Default 2 warning messages anti skid and reduced power! s40 1.6d

Driving home and just accelarating onto the motorway i get 2 warning messages flash up

1) anti skid service required
2) reduced performance

my car then gets me home doing 65mph for 15 miles down the motorway and when i arrive home, stop and restart nothing there and now drives fine only done about 10 miles.

Its a 2006 55 1.6d s40 with 86k on the clock it doesnt have DPF and have seen various posts on this.

Only do 15 miles a day about town in it, Any ideas and what should i do next as service not due till August.

Help

I had the same issue under the same circumstances. Took a quick software upgrade and it was fine.

Sounds like you need to take it somewhere and get the codes read. Go from there.

This might turn out to be the best answer ! lol
Seriously though ,I would leave it and see if it does it again first. If it does then find an indy that specializes in Volvos and get them to read the codes (the car stores them in memory). This should narrow things down to about only 10 thousand different possibles

my dad had a similar problem (reduced performance) with his xc90 turned out to be the fuel filter needed changing.

Default Anti-Skid service required

I just paid Volvo £373 for this to be repaired. My abs was not working. Volvo UK know of the anti skid fault, its the brake control module. Volvo will replace for free if your car is 5 years old or less, 50% off if 5 & 6 years old and then it reduces as the car gets older.
