Default 240 Parts?

Hi All,

Just purchased a 1990 240 GL Saloon with 170k mileage.

Need to locate a good online and/or local parts dealer (South East England).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I use German, Swedish and French (http://www.gsfcarparts.com/) quite a lot; they do online/mail order and also have branches all over the country. Where abouts are you?

There is also Euro Car Parts (http://www.eurocarparts.com/), but I've never used them, so I can't comment.

I've used both these by phone order. They are quick and very cheap, and fine for routine things if you accept that you don't get OEM parts. Eg I got an excellent radiator for £60 I think a few years ago - it has been excellent, likewise £24 brake master cylinders on several cars I've had.

Just watch that they really know what you want, and double check that the part is correct for your model. The sales people, who may well be in India or somewhere, have no real knowledge of the cars, and have a tendency to tell you it will fit when really they haven't a clue and will sell you anything.
They readily accept returns if the parts are wrong, but won't pay return postage or arrange collection.

Don't forget that GSF give VOC members a discount - make sure you ask for it!
