Hello, I read that it's possible to modify the configuration of RAM requested by VIDA 2014D in some file to bypass the problem of 2.7 GB minimum. But the quantity of RAM is checked in the installation, so it stops. Does someone know if is possible to run VIDA with Win7 Pro and 1.5 GB RAM? Thank to all.

You need to copy the VIDA install DVD to the HDD or USB stick first, save a backup of the file \Install\DVD\Vida_dvdheader\Compinfo.ini then then edit the file. You're looking for the sections headed [RAM] & [DRIVESPACE] near the bottom.
Then save the file. When you run the installation, there is a log file saved somewhere. Look for the errors. It will tell you what stopped the installation, if it fails

It use to work fine a year ago.
It has not been used since.
The laptop is ONLY used for VIDA and has never been connected to the web since the original full fresh install of XP and VIDA.

My Dice has a flashing green firmware light
Doesn't have a permanently lit USB com status light ( briefly flashes when USB plugged into laptop)
Unlit Bluetooth light
Flashing vehicle interface light when plugged into running car.


Have run Dice diagnostics thru Programs etc and no connected devices are seen.
Dice is powered independently. I have tried via a running car too. (Vehicle interface light flashes orange when this is done)
VIDA works fine as a reference library too, if I input the VIN.
I've tried reinstalling firmware thru VIDA and DICE diagnostics it's installed 5.0.0

Just no live views of any cars or DICE..........

Anyone had similar issues?

Make sure you have not installed SQL server above 35 via an update or other software dice spits it's dummy out if you have

A quick edit.

I have managed to finally find one that two different reps at separate times both say this one is multicoloured and upgradable. I may take a punt at it unless anyone tells me otherwise.

Try cheshired on this forum. He does the multi-coloured unit plus s/w for £100 or thereabouts and also has posted installation instructions. He also does fully set up and tested laptops for £145

I foolishly upgraded my laptop to win10 pro , I forgot all about not being able to run Vida .. I am now past the 30 day downgrade window so I am stuck with win10

Has anyone had any success running Vida on win10 pro ?

Run it in a virtual Win 7 machine or set up a dual-boot.
