  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Dave, I forgot to add that they usually increase the power and more importantly torque so the car can change to a higher gear more quickly, so it's not really a de-tune, more of a retune.

I would make a rough guess that it takes about 75,000 miles to recover the cost. You'd have to have one to really find out though as every car is a bit different.

I agree. I switched to a diesel Golf, because of it's high mpg, for a while but I never really enjoyed it like I have the Volvo's. I soon got fed up with it after about 9 months before I felt the need to return to a Volvo.

There are certain things people obsess about on these forums. What oil to use. what mpg, what tyres, (XC90's can wear them out really quickly with a poor tyre choice) Volvo are part of a conspiracy to cheat us of (not sure what) with poor automobile technology. (Like they have a really bad track record of producing short lived engines. NOT)

Mpg can be a usefull pointer to how well the engine is running, but as you say it's not the most important thing in life.
