A bit disappointed to be honest. Hoping it would be a super sized xc60 looking beast. This looks very ordinary..... especially it it's going to last another 13 years!

The big front end looks like a US based SUV/Escalade wannabe (mainly the chrome grill on the black one), back end looks XC60 ish which is good and mid to rear section looks Merc GL to me.

Overall I'd give it a 6 out of 10, it's okay but the lack of split tailgate is really poor. Interior is the big selling point as thats where you spend most of your time so it;s what you look at.

I'd still buy one (if money allowed) due to it being a true 7 seater and I need the seats and space, is it a big step forward from the current XC90, not in my opinion. I'll still want one in 10 years time when they are a lot cheaper though.
Thats because I'm tight.

Mouth wide open, and a funny led eyebrows
Sorry guys but this is one awful looking design.
A combination of everything and nothing at the same time, with no identity.
I think that this is a major draw back for Volvo design, the firm that impresses us all with sleek, beautiful and nicely put together cars!!!

However, for those of you who likes it, it is live here.

The best part of £69K for the top of the range exclusive introductory models.
Doesn't say if this is for the Hybrid version though.

I was hoping to make the new Gen version my third XC90, but as a private buyer this is way out of my range alas

Oh what have they done! Thats awful!
It looks like the mating of an xc70 and a Q7.

Default Manual gearbox & pricing

Amazingly it looks like the D4 version of the XC90 WILL be available with a manual gearbox! Who'd have thought?

See this report:
http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/new-...-story/1308165

Regarding the pricing, do you remember how expensive and unattainable the original XC90 was when it was launched back in 2002? I think Volvo's pricing policy is perfectly understandable and probably means that values of our current XC90s will be relatively unaffected by the new launch. That's not to say I am not disappointed I can't afford it!

Mmm, not sure about the looks, bit reminiscent of the Toyota Land Cruiser at the front, albeit a bit smoothed out, inside nice! ... more disappointed about the price ....

From the articles published so far

entry level in the UK ..... £46K
entry level in the US .....$49k (£30k)

Why ... because they can and they think European/UK owners are stupid and gullible.
