Hi all

The haynes manual states every 48k however it also says if you do not have history of when it was last changed it would be better safe than sorry to do so as a matter of urgency!

I'm contemplating doing mine as I think the water pump is on its way out mine is a B18U with aircon (more stuff in the way) on 63k.

The only bit that concerns me is getting the correct deflection on the belt without the service tool...?

Have you tried GSF for a belt kit? i think your nearest one is Glasgow - I appreciate thats about 150 miles away being a soft southerner but they know their stuff and they are pretty reasonably priced too.

Whether that is a Haynes manual (older one preferably) or vadis or something else doesn't matter, so long as you have a guide to the job.

If as stated the service interval is 6 years/60k miles then yes, you are well overdue.
If you don't do it, get a local trusted Volvo independent to do it...

Des. . .
Thanks Des,

Will get a quote from the wee local garage. They are not bad for price and seem to do a good job. and compare cost of kit and hastle factor.
