manoman48 - only about a 20 mile round trip ... daren't go too much further after the previous incident!

niloc - I already know the engine mounts are in need of replacement - I think I was perhaps a little over excited at the angle of engine I referred to early on ... just though the mounts may have finally given up the ghost!

Well the good news is that I think it is going to be something simple. Just needs some work to find out what it is. If the car has been running with only three cylinders firing properly the ECU might still be over-compensating or mis-timing. 20 miles isn't a lot, but I understand your concern. The ECU will learn over a range of engine speeds and loads, so unless you reset it the length of time for the old settings to be forgotten will be increased.

It really would be worth finding out your radio code and then resetting it I think.

I am in Rotherham on Sunday, but at work til 2ish. If you want me to come over and have a look or a drive out with me following in case of problems then just let me know. Could compare engine angles and check your mounts as well.
