Diesel Cam Belt

Hi, the time is approaching when the cam belt will need replacing on my 2000 (2001 model) V40 Diesel. Is it just the belt to replace, or are there any other components that are worth changing? Tensioner, maybe? Thanks.

volvo recomends that the tensioner [£36 volvo] be replaced at the same time as the timing belt, also, the drive belt, which has to be removed in any case to access the timing belt.

Hi,

I'm a new member with a 2004 V40 Diesel.
I had a service and the guy said a cam belt change is due.
Its done 65k, is that right?

60 thousand miles,or 6 years

Changed mine at 60k. Now my Volva V40S has dome 100500 and runing as sweet as ever

. Doesn't use any oil at all

. Although i do a oil change every 6k.
