Yorkshire FGTG (Food get together) Club
Dear All
If we have enough support I am thinking of starting a FGTG for Yorkshire . My initial thoughts are we meet on a given day each month (say first Monday of every month or weekend day if that's better? good deals to be had on a Monday though) and each member takes it in turn to organise a lunch or dinner at a place and type of cuisine of their choosing. Is this something you would be interested in? We could meet in the location car park, have a natter and look over each others cars before having a nice bite to eat and a decent bit Volvo related banter, other halfs also welcome. Please let me know if you would be interested Happy New Year to all Kindest regards Ian

Sounds good; I work shifts (as you may do), so weekdays can be convenient, but I think that in general, Sunday mornings or afternoons will be more popular.
"Yorkshire" or "The North"; well, people have travelled from well outside Yorkshire to come to the Yorkshire meetings thus far, but people in Newcastle or Carlisle almost certainly woudn't include Yorkshire as part of The North; and much as I love the northernmost parts of our great country, I certainly wouldn't have the time nor pay the petrol for a meet that was 50 or 100+ miles away, so I think it's best to be clear about where the meets themselves will be located (whilst continuing to welcome those who choose to travel from outside Yorkshire), and keep "Yorkshire" and "The North" separate!

OK as there is little or no interest in this I'll knock it on the head. It was just a thought but obviously Volvo owners are not as enthusiastic about their food as other marques.

It's an interesting idea and depending on where in Yorkshire the meet is happening, I would probably attend. (shift worker so Mondays may be ok.)
I think you need to organise one first, set a date and venue and see how it goes. |
