Default Brake Light Switch

Sounds to me like a faulty brake light operating switch, or the wires have fallen off the switch. Grovvel round under the brake pedal, and at the top, there should be a mechanically operated switch. If its stuck, lights won't operate.Check switch and wires to switch. Careful cos the switch is on the positive side of the system, so if you're going to take it off, disconnect the bettery first.
There is supposed to be a set distance from the pedal arm to the switch, which is adjustable, see it the arm is actually woring the switch too.
