I had vibration under braking which led me to change discs and pads which improved it a bit but gradually got worse again. looked at rear wishbone bushes which were both split. bunged new bushes on and now no vibration whatsoever. get underneath and have a look.

Going to try and take it to the garage by my work tomorrow and see if they can check the rear bushes for me, then if they look alright it'll be in for an alignment.
I'm only too well aware of what kwikfit can be like lols, but I have used a couple that are decent when I've been desparate, one of which is local to my house and they have the hunter machine so I will probably go there. All the other places nearby with the machines are not convienent to use as not open sundays, or wont take bookings, or are 40-50 mins away with nothing around them, where as kwikfit I can drop car off and walk home, I've used them for tyres before (just to fit not to supply) and they are good. |

Lower arm bushes (which were shot) and full discs and pads cured this for me.

Had the same sort of thing - wheels felt out of balance when braking from 70mph and gradually got worse until it started happening at 50mph-ish as well. Had new discs and pads fitted about 6 months ago and no problems since.
It is just possible that keeping a foot on the brake when stationary after fairly heavy braking causes a localised heat build up under the pads and warping of the disc. |

I took mine to another garage on monday, they checked the discs on rollers and they were warped new discs and pads fitted, seems better and no vibration under braking, haven't had the chance to get up to motorway speeds yet, but hopefull this will have resolved the issue :-)

Sorry to bump an old thread but have been trawling the forums over the same problem.
I get a steering wheel wobble from 60mph+ and just gets worse as I go faster, the whole car feels unstable and bit of a mess. Braking is fine so I don't think it's warped discs. I expect it does it under 60mph too though it's harder to tell, pretty sure I could feel it vibrating slightly at 50 yesterday. I got the tyres and wheels balanced and were told they were fine, vibration still there... Then took them to The Wheel Specialist who said I had 1 buckled wheel and 2 others had flat spots. They fixed all the wheels and balanced them and on my way home it was still vibrating. Took it back to them yesterday and they took all the weights off and redid them and as expected, it still vibrates. I'm taking it into a garage tomorrow to check tie rods, everything suspension/bush related but I'm not optimistic they'll find anything - It passed it's MOT last week so would have expected any poor bushes to have failed it. Any other suggestions? Plenty of threads on this online but most have no outcome.
