States a gearbox update so have many had this applied and has it made a difference?

I find my self shouting at the car these days at every round about I come to as it drops to 1st for no reason etc. I tried dynamic all the time but that is also tiresom as it revs out the rattly 4 pot again for no reason then won't change up past 6th once cruising.

I want to like my v90 d5 more but I just can't at the moment.
The exact reason I had Polestar installed. Never had that problem since.

Had my software update two weeks and the gearbox IS totally different. Its far smoother and is more efficient. What a difference!! Prior to the update the gears were quite clunky feeling sometimes and never seemed to be in a comfortable gear. Waiting on a new 19 plate for delivery early March. Can't wait as its a better spec

Well after a few days driving and a long schlep the car is completely different!
I've gone from hating it to actually being able to enjoy the good bits.
The gearbox now makes use of the d5 lumps torque properly and it is so much nicer to drive. I am wondering if the callibrated the gear box initially for a petrol car and then used that for every model?

Anyway just got to get something to give it a bit more oomph and happy days.

Guys, do you maybe have a technical journal for this update?
Or should I just ask in the service that I would like it to be updated?

could the update fix the issue that sometimes when I want to accelerate quickly, it just revs like crazy without actually accelerating?

Quite possibly. That was one of the annoying traits where if you accelerate after coming off the pedal, even quite gentely the box would pause then suddenly drop down too many gears and rev out the engine. Completely against any common sense for a 2.0 4 pot diesel engined car. As such the car feels a bit quicker as itvstays in thepeak torque range.

It actually surprises me to be honest, how a brand like Volvo delivers new brand models with this kind of software...sounds so out of competence.

that said I think the 'dynamic' program is just like it should be in the first place, isn't it?
