Alarm sounding on 08'C70 Convertible D5?
Hi all there seems to be a fault on my C70 D5 mk2 Convert.it has started to "go off" every so often with the siren sounding.
If anyone can tell me whereabouts i can find the siren in the engine bay please..i can then get the id off it for a replacement if required and swap new for old? Any body else lend their experience or knowledge as to why it wants to go off for no apparent reason?or the item code i require to save me going in twice?it creates the message "alarm triggered check car" on the screen. Thanks all...Carl. Last edited by c13amb; Feb 4th, 2019 at 18:58. |

I had the same problem start on my Saab 9-5 in September..
The reason this happens on Saabs (may be applicable) is that either:
It's quite common, my fix has been to take out the alarm unit, recondition the board (check solders, put in new batteries and capacitors, then re-seal with conformal coating). I'm still waiting on putting it back in the car and re-enabling it to see if it's fixed, but this is the process for when it goes wrong on "modern" Saabs. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response...i have googled and seen the listed faults.I was hoping that someone could tell me the actual product code so i could go looking for a replacement. The saab sirens have someone who id i cant remember, who reconditions units and sells them on..that would be great all i need to know is where it is in the engine bay?

Something to keep in mind is that a phone or tablet or anything with WiFi left in the car can set off the alarm.
