TOO TRUE Joe.
I only read this post because I saw your name on it (didn't know wasn't S80) and you helped me with my ecu. (guy rogers did good job btw, well pleased).
but as you said this post started before I had my problems and nobody from the s80 site pointed it out. so I think your right a link from general or faq to this post will help many.

I also have this intermittent problem. Can anyone post me a link of a picture or description of where the ABS ECU is housed. I do recollect seeing one but cannot find it again. Is it on the right hand side in the sealed black container?

Thanks in advance.

Jod, do you think this could be the problem with my ABS? (get a rubbing friction sound from the front left wheel until the TC light comes on (used to be 10mph but now sometimes until 20mph) and then stops. After that i don't get the problem again but obviously because the lights are on i don't have ABS or traction control

The problem of intermittent ABS/Tracs was getting worse on my 99 V70AWD so I removed the unit and re-soldered all the joints ad recommended. For the first few weeks it seemed better but now it comes on every journey after about 30mins driving and alternately also brings on the Engine management light. A restart when warm will not cure it but a cold start leaves only the engine light which will go off again after a while and/or few starts.
Is the the ABS controller or some other problem? What are the symptoms when the pump is knackered?

Im not really to keen on tinkering myself, would rather pay the money for a specialist to do it and have a warrenty against it happening again.

Has anyone used these guys?

If so then are they any good?
