Default 19T turbo potential performance

has anyone got experiance of the difference in performance between the:
TD04H 19T and TH04HL 19T turbo.

The different turbine will give differen spool characteristics and I know there are clipped 19T units out there as well.

I know it's a bit specific sorry. What are 'normal' headline figures for 19T units ?

Cheers

I have the HL in stock and have to say I was not aware of any other 19T.

I am not far from you so you could always call and have a look.

The 19T was only ever used by Volvo on the very last run out V70R awd's that were sold in the UK in '99 if I remember with a one off 265bhp engine.

There is really no difference in the output that you can get from an 18 or 19T, they are virtually the same, but for the 19Texhaust casting which turns the gasses into a straighter downpipe than does the 18T which has a straight casting followed by a more curved d'pipe.

You should get just in excess of 300bhp with either one of these turbos with a special downpipe and cat back 2.5" system on 850R and S/V/C70 and later engines given well written software with an excellent flat mid range torque curve which is what really gets you going.

The very latest, current S60 and V70 T5s with the KKK turbo will give over 300bhp with ease with just well written software, better still with the boot and braces of the full exhaust.

The real rider is exactly what car you want to fit with the 18/19T. and with what you combine it.

PS are you using the term clipped as in cutting back turbine wheels?

I have a 19t with custom map and standard down pipe, its good for 280 whp and 430 nm @ the wheels! approx 322bhp at the fly!
Spool up is quicker than a 16T and it holds good boost longer than 16T or a 15G!
It also seems smoother and more refined in deliverery than the smaller turbos when knocking around!

Defo suits a T5 and offers better economy when cruising at legal speeds, no easy task in any T5!

so as an altenative to the 19t what's involved in fitting the kkk unit? i guess its not a straight swap! (also- does the 18t require a new downpipe?)

18T and 16T use the same downpipe, there are different flanges for the 15G and 19T
