Exclamation Does your 240 estate have a cargo cover?

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a cargo cover for my estate (for £30) however my car did not come with one from the factory so I am missing the mounting brackets.
Does anyone have any photos of what the brackets look like so I can create something myself to fit them? Both ends would be ideal!

Cargo cover end

Where it should mount

I have a cargo cover in my Torslanda, I was fortunate that all the fixings were in place. I'll try to take some pictures, might be a day or two, the car's outside and the weather is unpredictable!

I suspect some of the various cars being broken for parts would have had load covers so the fixings might still be present.

Hi,

A few photos- I took the photos in the red car at a show some time ago, it’s not my car but shows the fixings in place.

I also took the photos in the white car, which I used to own. These fittings/plates were in place when I bought it for something which has subsequently been lost- no idea what. If I was fitting a load cover I’d probably make something similar with the shape for the load cover on the end, since that would allow a certain amount of adjustment up or down which the standard fittings don’t have- they’re screwed in permanently.

The shape of the end of the load cover is the same for the 940 ones, so although the brackets for a 940 won’t fit as they are, you might be able to repurpose them or something- I mention this as the load covers for the 240 are really quite rare, but much more common for the 940, which means finding a set of brackets for a 940 is also correspondingly easier.

Cheers

Bugjam. I am wondering how quite rare the load cover is now. Because I MIGHT sell mine ... maybe next year ... Mine cost me £100 plus delivery in 2017. Including fittings.

ihopethatsnotrust, So £30 now was a bargain. if you search for load cover in the 240 forum in for sale section you'll find some old threads with photos of fittings. I hope that helps.

Stephen

Stephen,

Well, I’d put it on eBay if you’re going to sell it, for maximum exposure. I’d have thought you’d be able to sell it for more than you paid for it, perhaps up to £200? But the way to find out is to put it on eBay (with a reserve) and see.

£30 for one is quite the bargain, as you say.

Cheers

Apologies, I had the dog crate out today and did a bit of cleaning, completely forgot to take pictures of fittings, but it looks as if others have provided the information anyway.

Late reply but I had the same problem with missing cargo cover mounts. I managed to 3d print them using a 3d printing service here in Ireland.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4588257 is the design I used.

Hi Stephen,

I realise this post is a few months old now, however if you are looking to sell anytime soon I'd certainly be interested. Collecting my 240 soon and I'm intending on finding a cargo cover for it - to keep those prying eyes away from my shopping.
