Apple Carplay not working on new XC90
Tried connecting my iphone to Carplay today for the first time and nothing happened.
The Carplay tile is present but greyed out on the menu screen. Should it have been activated by the dealer before sale, or am I missing something more obvious here? Never had any trouble with it on my last XC90. Cheers.

The iPhone has to be physically connected to the white usb socket, and you also have to check the permissions on the iPhone. When connected the Sensus screen should ask if you want to use CarPlay or just the iPhone as an iPod. Then it should all work.

I used to have this issue, then I realised that the phone will only connect when it's unlocked - a quick tap on the screen to wake it up and get the face recognition to see me and the icon immediately appears.

I also think that Siri should be enabled for Apple Carplay to work.

The phone has to be connected by USB cable on the proper USB socket, the phone has to be unlocked to be able to register the apple car play on the phone, and you don't need to have siri enabled.
If you registered successfully your car on your phone, it will be visible on Settings-> General -> car play. https://support.apple.com/guide/ipho...h6860e6b53/ios Be aware that if you already paired your phone by BT and have a shared internet connection, the pair wirelessly will not work.

Is the car still connected to internet when using Carplay? I have an impression that traffic does not get updated if the phone is connected through Carplay. Or maybe there is some settings for that...

Tried Apple Carplay once and I don't really like it.
I would prefer the interface to be wireless really, plus the functionality lacks compared to Android Auto implementation which looks so much sleeker.
