Boost gauge and MBC (controller) for sale

For sale:
The MBC, boost gauge and mounting pod recently remove from my 940 turbo when a sold it as standard. Only done 440 miles.

Boost gauge, is from elkparts, reads upto 1.5 Bar and is nice and subtle, also illuminated. http://www.elkparts.com/saab-93-ss-m...bar.p3751.html

MBC off ebay following recommendations off this board. Nice OEM look, I had it tucked away behind the air box, comes with fittings, push-pull locking thus easy to change.

Hi Jimbo,
I don't know whether you've seen my earlier posts. I've recently purchased a 945 Celebration LPT Auto, it's very low mileage and mint. Problem is pulling my not lightweight caravan it will not hold high cruising speed ( 65-70 mph ) OK through the gears but once eased off at required speed it'll change up into top gear and slowly die.Would in your opinion fitting a boost kit help, if so I'll buy yours. I'm not looking to light up the rears,but just simply have that bit more power at the towing speeds required.Catch ya later,indoors.

Indoors.. I think you will find that 60MPH on motorways and dual carriageways and 50mph on single carriageways is all you allowed already!!!!
My advice is (and you are worrying me as to how heavy it is!) get a smaller/lighter Caravan.
Are you certain you are at the allowed weight for your car? I think the maximum for a 940 estate is between 1300-1600 KG.

I don't think a MBC is going to help you at all as boost works on revs and when it hits the next gear the revs will drop.

Boost works on load. Sitting still and revving the engine won't give you any boost.
I answer to your question indoors, I foudn that upping the boost slightly to about 10psi did make a noticeable difference. This increase on a LPT should be worth about 42 BHP/ LB FT i would imagine. This is good kit so if you want it drop me a pm and we can exchange details.

Hi all,
Thanks for that heyskull, but here in France we can tow at up to 130 kph = 82 mph. the idea of swapping to a smaller 'van has been muted by SWMBO, and having the Toyota 3-0 D4D Twincab as my normal tug is not a problem as we can comfortably tow at 70 mph @ 2000 rpm ( returning just under 30 mpg ). It's just that I'd liked to have been able to use the Volvo now and again. We pulled the 'van back to England a few weeks ago with the Volvo and the poor thing only managed 13 mpg. So I spose' its back to the old addage " Horses for courses ". Have a good'n, Catch ya later,indoors.
