I was wondering about stainless steel pipe. The only issue I can see with copper is possibly that fatigue might be a problem?
Alasdair1 would you like to weigh in on this one?

What about nylon pipe just like Volvo themselves used to use on the older 7xx series?

Get petrol rated pipe and the right connectors, jobs a good'un!

Cheaper*, easier to work with, won't rot/rust and is inherently strong enough to support itself as well as remaining pliable enough to cope with vibration.

* - cheaper than stainless steel and copper, probably dearer than mild steel.

I'm using the original vinyl (or nylon whatever it is) on my 360 (31 years old). It has metal inserts at the end and the rubber pipe just pushes on it with a hose clamp. Its not good for tight bends.

Don't see why copper alloy would be a problem, its used for brake pipe replacement, OE rigid pipe is also mild steel. It should not be moving to get fatigue, and the pressure should not be a stress on it atall.
