Default C70 t5 gt has blown bottom end

Hi guys well it looks like the old girl has finally let me down so now I need some advice I’m told the bottom end has gone so how much is a engine rebuild likely to be ? Or do I sell it as spares for someone to build a animal out of ?
I would love to rebuild it and keep it but I’m just worried with the birth of another child I’m never gonna have the money to do it and the car will just sit there forever.
I am really gutted as I’ve spent thousands on her over the last year and finally dialed in the coilovers as well last month and had a car which handled like it was on rails so this is where I stand any ideas ?

Sorry to hear. What happened, what symptoms? I had a garage say my 740 engine was knackered. It wasn't and still worked fine 2 years later.

If the worst has happened then how about fitting a used engine?

James.

As above, fit a used engine. Much easier if you get an identical version though.

I was told the oil pump has seized and I have to say the engine really sounds like it’s dead it knocks bangs grinds and shakes with no power at all my problem is I have a s40 t5 as well as a smax and this was my weekend playtoy now with the birth of baby number 8 funds are tight and before anyone says it yes I have a tv 😂 so I’ve been looking about for a engine and can’t find them cheap plus then it’s having someone fit it so I think it’s time to say good bye really but I don’t want to scrap her really so I think it’s prob sell as spares with the coil overs miltec exhaust and all the extras still on it anyone interested before she goes on eBay

Probably worth more in parts to be honest.

I'm breaking a T5 coupe at the moment, has a strong engine with about 200 miles short of 100k. Probably only want £175.

just reading this about the seized oil pump. Haven't really heard of these engines doing that due to the oil pump itself.
Makes me wonder if the pick up pipe was blocked or carboned up to start this process of destruction.
Secondhand engine is really the only cheapish way to go.
