The Nova Sport was either 1.3 or 1.4 but I think 1.3 (think I have a brochure on it somewhere) and had twin 40dcoe's and other bits but was the most fun front wheel drive car and really responsive.
When Blydenstein had the 24v Carlton they hired a Sierra Cosworth (3 dr) to do comparisons on the road and when I visited they weren't to impressed as the Ford's engine had let go. Radiator and various other things were bust. When there they wouldn't really show me the engine in the Carlton.

Maybe i was right when i said the GSi then, this one was certainly injected. I do have vague memories of a 1.3 with 40 DCOEs on it but don't know much about that one.

Funny about the Sierra letting go like that, in the late 80s/early 90s i lived about 2 miles from Hethel and one day was cycling back from Wymondham and spotted a big, green, dead saloon by the side of the road with a cloud of steam above it.
That's right, Lotus Carlton 3.6 twin turbo (this was early 1990 by the way) and the rad and top hose had just let go with a bang!

Looked at an old brochure
Nova SR 1.3/1.4
Nova GTE 1.6 8v 101bhp
Nova GSI 1.6 8v 100bhp

The Nova GSI replaced the GTE when the model range was updated.

That's the normal model line-up, the one i'm on about wouldn't have been in that with only 500 of the engines finding their way onto the market, and then most owners not knowing what they had! Even the owner of the one i rebuilt didn't know what he had, just thought he had a quick Astra! To be honest, i hadn't heard of it at the time either, it was only when i started trying to find the bits to rebuild it when the cam belt let go.

There's only 54 left Ash, these dealers have to make a crust somehow!

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=...&commit=Search

That said i can't imagine there will be many takers at that price!

*** EDIT ***

Just checked to include the SORN vehicles (the ones declared off the road) and it seems there are now 134 SORN with 54 taxed as of Q4, 2017. Going back to Q1, 2017, there were "only" 56 taxed and 120 SORN so the number in existence has gone up from 176 to 188 :

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicl..._carlton_turbo

There is a logical reason for this, when "Continuous Registration" was introduced in 2001, many cars would have been on the "old" system with the old style logbook etc. These wouldn't show on the DVLA system until they changed owners and a "new style" logbook was issued. Also many would have been bought and put away in a garage and left there. The owners have moved, died, emigrated or whatever and the car has been sold so a new logbook has been issued. This is the "barn find" phenomenon where the numbers that are known about increase due to them finally entering the Continuous Registration process.

Another example of this is my Rover 827 Coupé - when i bought it 5 years ago there were only 30 left, 8 taxed and 22 SORN and in the next few months i knew of 6 that were scrapped. However the numbers had gone up by the end of that year due to barn finds, cars changing hands etc. Now there are 20 taxed and 58 SORN as of Q4, 2017 :

Still rarer than a Bugatti Veyron though!

We got those here too but they were called the Vauxhall VXR8 :

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-sea...sMjQ&gclsrc=ds

Also had the Vauxhall Monaro, a rebadged Holden Monaro that is incredibly similar to the Chevrolet Lumina the local USAF people run about in round here.

Still rare beasts on these shores sadly though.
