Default V90 electric seat help needed please!

Hello! I recently bought the beasty 1997 v90 estate which runs beautifully but needs a little tlc inside. The first issue was that the drivers seat was not moving forwards and backwards and was stuck on one side. After removing and replacing the cable into the motor it now runs on both sides as it should, but will only move about 3inches forward and then stops- the motor doesn’t try to run and there’s no obstruction in the tracks, it just seems to think it’s at the front most point. Does anyone have any ideas why this is and how I can fix it? Is there a way I can move it forward manually and then see if it will run all the way back? All the other controls work fine and if I can’t get it running I’ll take it to the garage, but I’m hoping it is a simple fix!

Check your handbook, there should be a section in there on the electric seats, unless they're memory seats there won't be any limit switches so it won't know it's at the end. Also try squirting contact cleaner around the edges of the switch buttons, it will work its way into the switch. Leave it to soak for about 5 minutes then give the switch plenty of backwards/forwards exercise before switching the ignition on and testing it.

The handbook should also explain how to move the seats manually and where the tool is to do this.
