But it's only gonna be long term if I find out I really don't use the heating at all. Comes winter, if I need it I will do the job properly.

I tend to work on my car outside in nice weather in the summer and try to get these sort of jobs finished before the winter. Appreciate your situation might be different; warmer climate; covered workshop, etc.
If you are reliant on cars of this age as daily transport, as I am, it makes sense to have more than one. You are then still mobile while you've got one in pieces and/or awaiting parts. It's also a godsend when you take something apart and aren't quite sure how it goes back together. If you can afford/justify it, try to find a car similar to yours and in reasonable condition as a second vehicle. Not that wreck you were looking at in another thread! Good luck whatever you decide to do. |

I also have a VW Polo, so I won't be carless if I need to do something bigger on this car. That's not the issue. I know, saving a big job for the winter makes no sense in most european countries, but here it's alright. Here it probably rains less in the winter than in the summer in the UK. I would very much like to get another 200/700/900 just because I like them. Today I went to see one, just because it was 3km away from my house. What a rust bucket. What a shame the owner let this car die completly.

It is an import. Either from Canada or US.
Guy is asking 1250 for the car. Think it's worth parting?

What happened to the 240? Certainly needs a bonnet/hood and a set of tyres for the interesting alloys, but what was the rest like? Interior? If no chassis rust it could be a steal at EUROS 750 ish. Even a bit more the way prices are going.
