Thanks John, Hank.

John - when you got he HU-850, did it come with security code(s), and if not how did you get it working? Or did you not need any? I have been offered a unit today. But once it's removed from the old car, and put into mine, i have little confidence that it will work immediately, and my local dealer seems to want to make cash aout of anything.

Hank - thanks for offer. may come back to you but it sounds like it could be a long shot...

recently broke a mirror. totalled. electric folding. dealer said a replacement needed a software update. something like £40 for the s/w AND another £40 for time to do it (plus £400 for mirror!). but i got a used one for £10 and it worked straight away.....

Hi Graham
No codes needed. It was just a matter of disconnecting the battery, taking out the old radio and installing the new one. When I reconnected the battery everthing worked perfectly. From what I've read, as long as a radio has been safely removed from the 'donor' vehicle by first disconnecting the battery (something you obviously can't always be sure of) and is of a similar age to your vehicle its basically 'plug and play'

Best of luck

John

Is the car an auto? I'm looking for a gear knob (for an ordinary auto, not the geartronic.)

Do you still have the air box, mounting bracket and pipework to turbo? If so please let me know how much either posted or collection.
