Default Headlights

Trying to find a new headlight unit for my v50 before MOT time. Its facelight 2008 model, has winter pack with xenon active bending lights.

The 2009 pricelist only mentions xenons as an option in conjunction with the winter pack but when I look on Scandix etc there seems to be listed a xenon light for facelift models without active bending lights which deosnt seem to be mentioned anywhere as an option in the pricelist.

I think the correct part number is 31299619 (NSR Xenon with ABL, confirmed with dealer parts department) although thats not the number on the top of headlight unit.

Does anyone know which headlight options are available and if theres only one xenon option for the facelift cars??

To be honest I have never heard of FL xenons WITHOUT ABL so I think you are right. What p/n is on your light?
why you are replacing it, btw - damaged?

Part number is 31265711 on the headlight

Looking at volvobreakers, they suggest 31299619 :
https://www.volvobreakers.co.uk/volv...amp-2007-2013/

and skandix is number 32206139
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...-tube/1034135/

but Skandix also give this link for Xenon headlights without ABL.
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...-tube/1023455/

Its all quite confusing! Think I'll stick with the part number on the unit itself

Wow, thats interesting, never noticed difference in FL lamps but once you compare both p/n pictures its clearly 2 different versions. High beam reflector on ABL is round-ish, on another is classic shape, also the blueish projecotr housing on non-ABL one is different.

I checked in Vida - pn from your lamp is not recognised, but Vida indeed provides 2 different part numbers for RHD left xenon lamps:

31299619 - with ABL
31299615 - withoput ABL

You may have problem finding p/n matching your existing one - could have been superceeded or just changed as spare part.
I can check your VIN in Vida and it may narrow down the search but its also possible it will output 3 options and you will be none of the wiser. But if you want, PM me your VIN, no problem.

Just a note to close this thread.
I found a headlight through Fellside Cars and Classics. The part number on the unit matched the number on my car although it apparently came from a car without ABL. PN 31265711
Anyway, fitted, tested fine and threw no fault codes so a deal done!
Big thank you to them for letting me try before buying.
I’m really no clearer as to which headlight I would have had to buy if I hadn’t found one with a matching PN as I can’t find a new Volvo headlight listed with the part number on my car
