advice needed alloy wheels
hi< I have a 2016 xc60 with diamond cut ixion 3 alloy wheels. Unfortunately I have kerbed one and need it repairing (unless I can find one for sale anywhere) My issue is the repair place have nowhere to store my vehicle so just need the whell but of course I have no spare wheel. My driveway is on a slope so I have nowhere I can park the car flat to stay on just 3 wheels for the couple of days I have no wheel. The repair place have a company they sometimes get wheels off to fit to vehicles like mine but say they have nothing that will fit an xc60, anyone know any that will fit? Its not to be driven just purely to be kept on the driveway.
If not anyone know anyone selling an ixion 3 wheel? Thanks |

I would not jack anything up and leave couple of days, even if properly supported on axle stands. |

To the OP, perhaps find a neighbour/friend with a flat drive? Space-saver spare borrowed from another Volvo/Ford Mondeo or Kuga. Or try to find a wheel repairer that does have space to securely park your vehicle. Out if interest are you using the guys on Storforth Lane Ind est ? |

out of interest have you thought about not having the wheel diamond cut, my experience with cut wheels is that after the tiniest of chips, they start to star and corrode fairly quickly even after the best refurb.
Id consider getting all 4 wheels done in non diamond cut finish. might be cheaper too than getting 1 wheel diamond cut just my thoughts thats all |

Have the same issue on my Audi where I curbed the wheel and caused minor damage. They are also diamond cut and when I took it to a specialist he explained that they have to be cut back a few millimetres to fix it (can't be fillered) which would then affect the look of the alloy too. He suggested to leave it until it was curbed again/far worse but to put a coat of clear nail polish over the mark. I've done that and although it's not great they've not corroded

2 of my Ixion 3 alloys have been curbed, and they are the 20". really annoyed as they were spot on when I bought it.
Will do the clear nail polish thing tonight, didnt think of that. I've been thinking i wont get them re-cut until there are more dinks, which im sure there will be!
