Default V50 wing mirrors?

Just noticed my v50 08 has considerably smaller wing mirrors than my 09 one does. Why did they enlarge them anyone know?

Don't know but I have the same variation between model years...

Question is which do you prefer?

since i've had the smaller ones on my 08 one I'm used to them and the 09 plate larger ones look odd now
what do you think?

I'm thinking they are larger for the blindspot warning device but just use same mirrors if you have that option or not to reduce costs.

Just a side-by-side comparison for anyone interested.
pre FL vs FL one.
I am surprised though that 08 and 09 differs - is 08' a preLift ?
edit - contrary to what you say, upper one is pre-FL one and is bigger than FL model. Its weird that your newer car has bigger mirrors, maybe someone swapped them over just for that reason?

My housemates 2012 C30 has noticably taller mirrors than my facelift 57 (2008) S40.

The smaller mirrors look better from inside the car in my opinion, but obviously the bigger ones are more useful.

I wonder if the biggest ones are the ones with puddle lights, BLIS and auto folding mirrors?
