just wondering if anybody on here has tried refilling their own air con, if so what success did you have allso can you tell me where the filling valve is on the s60 2.4d5se 2002, many thanks'

This is illegal now since last year, max fine £40000 . You have to hold a certificate to show you have completed the training course by the ATA or City & Guilds and must have a picture ID card to work on AC systems ..

I thought the fine+whatnot was only needed if you were emptying the system, and the fines were for allowing the gasses to escape to the air?

Anyone in the Leighton Buzzard , Milton Keynes or surounding areas recomend a good sendible place to get the Air Con recharged on my 2002 S60??

That is true , but if you are "filling" a system , then you know it has some kind of leak and are knowingly going to let it escape again into the atmosphere .. the system must first be filled with nitrogen gas to detect the leak , then the leak repaired before filling with R 134a gas and finaly leak tested again to ensure it isnt leaking before it leaves your charge .
