Best to call Dougie around about 9:15/9:30. If you don't get through keep trying, the phone will eventually ring and be answered. Or even pop by his place.

Totally delighted with all the work carried out and the very reasonable bill presented.

Only downside is their alarming lack of communication, lol , do they ever answer the phone at this place.

All things considered though Volvomax gets my vote

One of my clients just took his car to Taggarts Glasgow (V40) to get some jammed locking wheel nuts removed.

After their 'free inspection' they said his car needed £2K .. yes 2 grand of remedial work!! This was Kev240's concourse winning V40 2.0T car.

They took it to a friend who was a mechanic who said it was in PERFECT condition, and NONE of the work was even remotely close to needing doing.

morale? they will RIP YOU OFF!! go somewhere else.

Have I read this right? If I opted for second hand parts I would want them to be cheaper than new genuine parts.

Is a wee bit unclear, though I read it that if the part required was expensive then they could source a used part instead. I hope!

I hope I don't upset any admins by the following comments, and I sincerely apologise if I do.

But a few weeks ago a new Independent Specialist appeared in our midst, trading in the East End of Glasgow, he was making a few posts blowing his own trumpet. I did wonder if that was within forum rules and, indeed, his posts seem to have been deleted.

The thing is, I've been staying in Glasgow myself this past week, also in the East End, and yesterday I encountered a sudden crisis.... 'Service required' on dash, with substantial loss of power.

I called Taggarts, but they couldn't fit me in, even to read the codes, til end of the week. I explained that the reason I'm here is to visit a gravely ill relative, recently moved to a Hospice, and I'm acting as 'taxi driver' for ferrying relatives. Still, Taggarts couldn't help.

So I tracked down the new specialist, who I won't name without admin's permission. He read the codes, explained all the options to me, obtained & fitted original Volvo (at my request) spares, and I was back on the road in just over 24 hours. Labour costs were a lot less than I'm used to and he's a very knowledgable and pleasant guy as well. All things told, a very satisfactory experience for me.

Smile Volvo Service and MOT's in Glasgow

Volvomax at Springboig Rd is the place to go. Dougie is very knowledgeable
and did everything needed for a very fair price. I had no fears of being ripped off
or conned. Very pleasant man to deal with. Thanks to Volvo Owners Club forum
for the tip!
