Default Chassis Number

Probably a stupid question but is the 'chassis number' the ONLY LAST SIX digits of the VIN?
previous cars have been so old they only had six digits !! :-)

Yes the chassis number is only last 6 as you say, the rest of the VIN are to do with engine/trim/made (location) etc..

Mines in today for the washer pump recall... also getting them to look at why stop/start is intermittent and the click from steering rack (maybe?).

Foglight software install too which is stinging the wallet.

Gave me a nice 12 plate D3 R Design as a courtesy car which is a howl!

Recall here in Germany for ALL D2s!

Reason: the right hand drive shaft can snap/break and the car will be limited in it's traction capabilities.

Here the owners will be contacted by Volvo. As the drive shafts are the same as in Britain, it will probably be forwarded to you too

Contact your dealers to find out if you are affected by this recall!

Hi, if like me you own the car second hand, do I still qualify to have the recall work done for free through Volvo? My thinking is yes?

Same here. Would I qualify as a second hand owner?

Recalls are not owner or mileage dependant. If a recall is issued it is for EVERYONE. So yes you would qualify.
