Default High Temp???

Hello guys, what temp range is normal???

Ive got a '99T4 and av noticed over the last couple of days that, on motorways, the temp gauge reads between 91-97(goes up an down every 30sec - 1min) and wen a giv it some full boost (say about 8-10secs) it reaches 102!! When stuck in V-slow traffic today, it didnt want to go below 94 (with engine fan ON CONSTANT)

Av never really noticed the temp before TBH, but am sure it used to sit quite a bit lower (80degrees rings a bell on motorway)

The coolant level is bang on. Oil level is at half, and new(ish)
Drove it at -3 the other nite and at +12degrees today, same results.

Has anyone encounterd this before?? ive lookd at other postings but they wer all for LOW running temps, with thermostat or sensor being the likely problem. HELP!
Thanks K

Interesting...
I just replaced my thermostat. It's marked 92C.
Autodata says I should use 90C for T4...

Anyway, when driving on b-roads temp stays around 92-93C.
I don't think that's normal.
Air temp is around +5C outside.

My 98 V40 T4 126 k runs around 92-93degs when upto temp and definately cooler on a motorway run down to say 90-92 it only ever goes into 98 + when sat in traffic 102 the fan cuts in and brings it down to 90 in 2 minutes , I would defo consider changing your stat and even the temp sensor as it could be giving false readings, change both for £40 and 15 minutes work for peace of mind.
