These ar used on race cars and are VERY cheap on eBay.

Yep, that's basically it, maybe the same size, maybe not - if you don't have the armoured coil, it is easy to move, and put it in the space.

in reality would it be possible to fit that underneath the seat so that if somebody sat on the chair it would go off? i come up with some daft ideas

Sorry to bring up an old thread but im being dumb again. The car has push button start, and i chained the pedals to gear stick with a chain thicker than my arms
Could somebody tell me where the rotor arm is? i know its something to do with distributor but i dont want to take any bits off unless certain

Carefully flip off the catches (2) each side of the dizzy cap. Lift off cap. Leave the plug leads on although it does restrict the movement of the cap a bit. Rotor is the brown bit in the centre with the brass bit sticking out the side. Pull upwards to remove. It will only fit back one way due to the peg/notch.

You are getting a Haynes manual aren't you...............
