Default World record attempt April 8th & 9th anyone?

Due to very late notification (16th March) please inform your members of the following major event via news sections, forums and/or Events Calendars ...

GREAT NEWS! SPORTS, CLASSIC & PERFORMANCE CARS NOW ELIGIBLE TO JOIN 4x4’s IN GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ RECORD ATTEMPT WEEKEND IN APRIL.

Want to be a world record holder? Well now you can! Thanks to an eleventh hour moving of the goal-posts by governing body Guinness World Records™, over twenty record titles have changed from “Longest 4x4 Procession” to “Largest Parade of .............. Cars”, each record bearing the name of the individual vehicle marque i.e. “Largest Parade of Toyota Cars”

In effect this means that all types and models of sports car, coupé, saloon, classic and performance car are now eligible to join 4x4 owners in a series of parades to establish or even break 20+ world records!

Based at Towcester Racecourse in Northamptonshire 8th -9th April 2006, the actual parades takes place Sunday 9th April over an 8 mile stretch of dual-carriageway, whilst Saturday 8th has been set aside predominantly for off-roading on easy/difficult routes.

Vehicle marques taking part now include Ford, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota and Vauxhall, these joining all the hundreds of Land Rovers and Range Rovers, Jeeps, Mitsubishi Pajeros and Suzuki Vitaras already booked into the event. Needless to say this should prove an exciting motoring mix!

"Why?" ... Why not? Need you ask, we're petrolheads after all! Put it this way - the venue is already booked, the logistics including Health & Safety and suchlike are all in place, all the Marshals and back-up teams are raring to go, and hundreds of 4x4 owners and campers are already booked in; so why not add some performance cars or classics into the mix to ensure we establish some new records or even break some old ones? Remember, as part of a successful record attempt every owner who participates can rightfully call themselves a “world record holder” ... and all this for only £20 per vehicle which includes Day Admission for the driver and up to 4 passengers, event decal and the all-important Certificate of Participation!

For those who don’t want to enter the procession but simply spectate, Day Admission is £5 per adult, children under 16 yrs are free. Camping is also possible Fri-Sun at £8 per night. Off-road course £20 play-all-day. Advance-Booking Form is available by request from 4x4trading@talk21.com Further info: 01406 493144 ~ 07958 216266 ~ www.vehiclerecordattempts.com
