V70 D5 Geartronic - gear change noise

Good morning all. My V70 is as stated a 2.4d with the auto box. It has 81k miles.

I notice that, on shifting up a gear, there is the faintest of noises - hard to describe but like a soft mechanical click - and it seems to be intermittent depending on gear.

You have to listen for it, it's that quiet - and gear changes are completely as they should be. The car seems to have had a gearbox oil service when it should have.

Anybody else have any experience of this, or ideas what it may be?

its not a CV joint click is it? Coasting in neutral, windows down - can you hear it?

Hi, thanks for the reply. No, it definitely comes from the gearbox. Maybe 'click' is the wrong word - it's the sound of something happening in the gearbox.
