Coolant temperature sensor?
I have torque pro app connected via elm327, the coolant temperature is reading -41°c permanently, the fan never kicks in, do I need a new sensor? If so where is it located?

The sensor wiring may be defective also so check for 5v and ground on the plug contacts with ignition on.

Ok I checked the voltage on the wiring and it is a little over 5v, plugged it back in and the sensor now works, is it likely to be an intermittent fault with the sensor or broken wire that has now made a connection from me moving it?

You could view live coolant temperature data and move the wiring around to see if you get a blip in the reading or you can just keep an eye on it. D5 thermostats and coolant temperature sensors are generally extremely reliable with almost no failure rates reported.

Ok thank you, I am keeping an eye on it with the torque pro app each time I get in the car and all seems well so far, I'll try your suggestion and see what happens
