Default Infotainment issue

Hi All,
I have a 2005 XC90 2.5T lpg converted. I have owned this car for 13 years and have had usual issues but generally its a great car.
I havnt used the car for a couple of years but have MOTd it and kept it running.
When i stopped using it the infotainment had stopped working, like no power at all, this coupled with headlight not working and parking sensors not working. Sorted the headlight out by by bypassing the cars system.
Left the other things until yesterday when i took out the infotainment system and checked the optical cables which appear to be OK. I put it all back and amazingly the unit now works! The CD works radio etc.....however there is an awful buzzing that drowns out any other sound. The parking sensors also dont work. I noticed that the sound and in fact all sound comes from the rear speakers only. I have a couple of videos showing this.
The question is.... Has anyone any ideas on what causes this and how can it be rectified. I have also checked and removed the amplifier which seems to work fine.
As always any help or ideas greatly received.

Hi

I would suspect the icm, information control module) this is a small box which has the display in the radio. This is very subject to excessive heat and will certainly have some dry solder joints.

My first call would be to either take or post the unit (including the fascia) to Volvo diagnostics to check it out.

If faulty, Volvo diagnosticscs m will give a lifetime warranty for the repair.

Or take a risk by buying one on the 'bay'. If no change then you could sell it again.
Hop this helps and let us know how you get on.

Be aware that the parking sensors sound through the stereo speakers. So if the amplifier and speakers are not working, you will not get any parking sensor beeps.
