Default 2003 V70R AWD rear diff oil change

Hi,

I'm trying to change the oil in the rear diff in my V70R but can't seem to get my oil suction pump hose in the drain plug.

So I have two questions

1. Is this the correct drain/fill hole?
2. If so do I need smaller hose? (How small?)

Viewed from the rear

I did the bevel/angle gear without any issues

After some intense googling I found the above thread. It seems you do need a really thin bit of tube. My 6mm one was too thick and inflexible.

Ordered some more from ebay.

Thinner tube worked a treat (5 mm external diameter). It did take a fair bit of effort to suck the oil out though.

Got about 400 ml out (definitely has a leak - should be about 650 ml).
