Colour identification problem
Hi.
I have problem getting some touch up paint or even spray for my v70. No, not getting it from volvo. Far to expensive. Lol Colour code is 450-26 2003/4 v70 The code is taken from the data plate in the engine Compartment. I can't find anything inside the doors as some pointing out. So far, I been offered bright blue, and even red with this code. It's kind of dark blue / midnight blue with a purple touch in sunlight. Could yone point to name of this colour out please? Start to get frustrated to the point I just respray the whole thing. (I have 15 liter gloss black, so no, is not cheaper getting a paint stick from volvo lol) THANKS |

surely it depends what you mean by 'cheaper' though, a respray is by no means a quick easy job is it, just having the paint is only a small fraction of the cost
even if you do it yourself, what do you value your time at, and how long will the car be off the road, certainly if you plan to do a reasonable job of it a £20 touch up kit is throw-away money by comparison to all the wet'n'dry, polish, masking tape and plastic sheets, also clear coat, etc etc etc and it'll never be as good as the factory volvo paint job Last edited by stuart bowes; Sep 10th, 2022 at 13:24. |

The Volvo aerosols are expensive, but in my experience superb quality, both the paint and laquer.
It is however 2 pack laquer, so needs to be used up. |

Found it.
WLW Auto paints on ebay. Rattle can mixed to your colour code with a free lacquer can.

Thanks.i order from them.
Volvo over here ask for 53£ on info I been given plus it needs to be ordered from outside UK, means extra brex**** postage. By the time I get a can and laquer it's about 70 £. Sorry but I never supported the brex**** nonsense and don't want to pay for a lost cause. Thanks to the advice of e bay it's a sales price of 24 for me now. That's reasonable. To the respray, I have all the stuff to respray here, as I been gifted this for a range rover I had before but never got around to do the job. So, it would be free, and as I resprayed cars before it wouldn't be a problem. Time is plenty available now the summer is over. Lol But, I ordered the paint and is on its way. |
