Default Just bought a V50. Couple of problems....

Morning all.
Just bought a 2010 1600cc diesel V50

A couple of questions if i may.

Dashboard is flashing up that the alarm eeds a service. Anything i can do or is it a trip too Volvo.

Also saying there is a fault with the NS indicators. The mirror indicators are those LED sequential(?) types fitted and the ns seems to do its thing very fast. So assuming thats the fault. Should the mirror bulbs be normal bulbs and a PO has fitted these LED jobbies?

Thanks in advance
Rich

A diagnostics scan will be needed with VIDA to try to pinpoint the issue with the alarm system. A component may have failed or a previous owner may have disconnected a module to stop the alarm going off erroneously.

Mirror indicators are normal W5W bulbs. Someone may have fitted LEDs but if they have they are aftermarket and not original.

A very common fault is the battery in the alarm siren. The battery gets low or goes completely flat, triggers warning messages on the dash and sets the alarm off randomly whenever it pleases, including at night.

It could be something else though, so its best to get it diagnosed properly.
