Electrics: 70: - C70 Rapid clicking (relay?)

2004 Auto 2435 GT Cabriolet

With ignition key turned to ignition position (2) all the dash lights that should come on do so, but there is a rapid clicking like a relay opening/closing rapidly comming from above my left knee, that is left and below the steering wheel.
I have checked that all dash lights work by coming on as they should and going out when they should but this clicking remains, even once the engine is started.

Annoying.

Any ideas?

Even with your seatbelt buckled?

If you look above your rear view mirror you will see a pair of flashing red lights - the clicking is the relay that does the "Buckle Up" lights.

Plug your seatbelt in and it'll stop!

Thanks guys, that was it.
Picked up car Friday night and it's been parked on my drive whilst I nipped down to Manchester for some sherberts.

Came back a short while ago and went to my new toy and thought......"....what the hell is that racket?"

It's a "Bing bing bing" noise on the V70 (58).

Ho hum!

Indeed.
No doubt I'll be back in this section later.
You have to laugh though, this is my 4th Volvo, with 2x V70's before my current one, and this as a plaything so you'd have thought that something as simple as this clicking would have been picked up by me without having to resort to a forum question.
just goes to show how useful forums can be even for the trivial stuff.
