Delivery was one week but I was in no rush and they combined postage for the handbrake shoes and springs. My standard sized ATE rear discs were just £35 for the pair from an eBay seller. The biggest bargain were the ATE handbrake cables which were £10 each delivered from Germany through Amazon. My guess is that they were priced incorrectly but such is Amazon, the seller had to honour the order and they must surely have lost money. You take the wins when you get them though. Often overlooked is the small cable with the double hook that fits to the handbrake lever and the main cables attach to. Mine was frayed and stretched so was replaced also at around £7 from Amazon. Genuine Volvo discs are still very affordable and delivered much quicker than Autodoc if you use one of the many main dealers with eBay shops and as always, Vida makes part number matching a breeze as you can search using the genuine number. ATE's excellent parts catalogue is useful too to obtain their part numbers then search eBay, Amazon etc. using those numbers instead.

I was using Autodoc's chat to locate ATEs earlier. Not a great experience...in fact rather worse than that. They don't have 286mm ATEs, either.
316mm ATEs cheap as chips (relatively speaking) on eBay though, I notice! Last edited by Bonefishblues; Aug 29th, 2019 at 16:20. |

£79 for a pair of 286mm is pretty good value though.

The ATE site doesn't marry up pad part numbers with discs so just use Vida to be certain of the Volvo part number then search using that.

All the spare parts listed below are compatible with OEM parts 8 634 921 Then on the individual pad listings it says OEM numbers are Volvo 272401, 274335, 38648385 - others have additional numbers, but the first two seem to be common to all. Is that what we're looking for? |

Possibly but like I say, I only use Vida so can't vouch for their parts cross reference system.
If it's wrong, it wastes a lot of time.

Very useful thread as I'm just about to go down route of swopping out rear discs/pads on my newly acquired 2009 V70 2.0l manual. Also noted Volvo shops selling complete kits for £155 including postage
Saw these on ebay... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-S60...M/401864452993 Sent my VIN number to be sure plus enquired about matching pads. P

V70r caliper on T5
Hi all,
I have a 2002 V70 T5 and wanted to fit some V70r front callipers. Please could you advise if this is straightforward bolt on job? And what size discs would you recommend. I have 17in standard alloys. Thank you. |
