shadycat New Member Last Online: May 10th, 2024 10:52 Join Date: Aug 2012 Location: York	Noisy compressor Hi all, first post so please go easy on me! I have just acquired a 2009 Mk2 S40 1.6 Petrol. The aircon compressor plug was disconnected when I got it and there is no gas in it. Pressurizing the system shows no leaks however after plugging the compressor back in, I can see why it was unplugged. There is a noticeable drain on the engine when aircon engages and the compressor whines, changing pitch with the engine. Turning aircon off stops the noise. I suspect it needs a new compressor or is there an easier way to overhaul it? Are these the same as the ford focus mk2 compressors? If so I can get a new one for £150 (under $200). Any advice greatly appreciated.
