Default Tow bar fitting advice

Will a genuine volvo tow bar go straight onto another its P2 with module & plug or does it need to be updated by volvo diagnostic software

Volvo V70D5 P2 I believe the tow module needs to be re programmed to the vehicle its fitted to in order for the lights to work fully

going by what I've read on the forum recently, I think its the 2006MY on that needs reprogramed
