Default Japanese import 850r

Hi all.
Having recently seen an 850 R whilst dropping my 960 off at my local Volvo specialist I have been thinking about getting one and been looking at available cars online and some of the Japanese imports look amazing.
A UK car has come up for sale nearby so gave the dealer a ring and he said the Japanese market cars don't have the same build quality with bodywork and rust prevention?
Not sure what he meant but does anyone agree?
Seems a strange statement but I know nothing about these cars....

There won't be any difference in build quality apart from the rust protection underseal is not routinely applied for JDM cars.

Not a huge job to get this cleaned up and applied if it's rust free when you get it.

If its a rust bucket leave it with the stealer.

Haven't seen either car in person.
Was just wondering why the UK car is more expensive with 100,000 more miles on clock.
I realise there is radio frequency issue with imports but apart from that is it just a case of getting underseal/ waxoil applied?

Yep - And clocks changed to read mph not km/h, plus a speed restrictor at 120mph to remove if it's anything like the Japanese made cars...

I'm going on the basis of an imported 1996 MR2 Turbo I had, so it may not all apply to Volvos...
